The Art Of Video Games: Part #3 (Story)

Published September 22, 2014 by Amanda B. Greene

This will the final part of the “The Art Of Video Games” series that I’ve been doing; I just wanted to point out some of the greatest things about video games in a fun way while proving that there is a certain art to all of the gaming industry. There’s a lot of talent that goes on in there all around the world. 🙂

Not every game has to have an intriguing story, so they don’t necessarily have to create an entertaining experience in that way, but there are so many fictions that just go beyond in imagination. Some will create alternate events in history while others take you to completely different worlds that should astonish players with what people come up with. Let’s honor some of the best stories in video games.

For the sake of avoiding the chance of accidentally saying any spoilers, I’ll just list them without their own paragraphs. Again, please let me know what you think in the comments/replies below and even post your own top ten if you want in terms of story. Like I said before, I’ll find time to add pictures/videos to each of my posts so you can judge the games for yourselves. Thanks for coming to my blog as always, I appreciate it.

10. Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii)

9. The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)

8.  Uncharted 2: Among Thieves or Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (both on PS3)

2. Bioshock Infinite (PS3)

1. The Last Of Us (PS3)

*Special Mentions: Super Mario Galaxy (the optional side-story) (Wii), Borderlands 2 (you don’t really play it for the story, but it does have funny characters as well as interesting ideas) (PS3), Civilization V (you can go deep into history and make your own) (PC), Fire Emblem: Awakening (some twists and turns plus odd characters including yourself) (3DS), and Resistance (unique take on an alien invasion) (PS3)

These pictures all came from Google, so I didn’t make nor do I own any of these photos.
