What Games Are You Looking Forward To In 2015?

There a lot of video games coming out next year that are going to be epic. I can’t wait for what’s coming. I mostly agree with “GameInformer’s Most Anticipated Games Of 2015” and like how they listed the Top Ten as well as added some honorable mentions. Next year will probably one of the biggest ever for the video game industry.

Here are some of the games I’m looking forward to in the future…

These are not listed in any particular order:

  • Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei (Working Title) (Wii U)

Nintendo is not really known for doing cross-overs, so this announcement surprised everyone. Intelligent Systems (Fire Emblem) and Atlus (Shin Megami Tensei) are working together to combine the two series together for a large role-playing adventure. The trailer didn’t indicate anything about the story besides showing off some of the possible characters that will be in the game. Hopefully, more details will come soon.

  • Batman Arkham Knight (PS4)

Batman Arkham City was a big success on the PS3, so Rocksteady is going to try to top that with this game. What I’ve seen so far is truly impressive and will surely get everyone’s attention. Video games centered around movies don’t typically do well for one reason or another, but this series is an exception. GameInformer has already had some hands-on time with the project saying the visuals are “breathtaking”. And who wouldn’t want to ride a Batmobile?

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)

I’m looking forward to this game because I loved its spiritual predecessor, Xenoblade Chronicles, that had an odd but cool and interesting combination of things. It’s a upcoming Japanese role-playing game that has you in the middle of what looks like the ultimate fight for survival of the human race. While there aren’t many details out at the moment, this one is truly one to watch for.

  • No Man’s Sky (PS4)

I won’t be able to get this game since you need a strong internet connection in order to play, but it looks stunning with all the colorful and detailed visuals. This is a highly anticipated indie game by Hello Games. You get to explore space with so many various planets, all different from each other. The universe is said to be so large that it’s unlikely that you’ll ever meet other players twice which is a crazy idea that has never really been done before. I hope they do well because it looks amazing so far.

  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

I have complete faith in Naughty Dog in whatever they do. This sounds as though this will be the final game in the Uncharted series, where Nathan Drake might die in the end, but with Naughty Dog you never know what will happen. This is a big franchise for Sony that has received many rewards and lots of praise over the years. The treasure-hunter has plenty more in store.

  • Metroid?

While Nintendo hasn’t announced anything for the Metroid series, many fans have been wanting or itching for another installment. I would like to play as Samus Aran again, hunting down aliens with an awesome arm cannon. My only concern is how badly Metroid: Other M turned out, especially with how it depicted Samus differently in a bad way; I think Nintendo should just ignore what happened in that game as if it never existed. I’m sure that is a shared opinion with most. Let’s hope they have something planned for the neglected franchise.

  • Star Wars Battlefront (Multiple Platforms)

Another Star Wars Battlefront has been long overdue. I remember playing and watching that game on the PS2. The series is known for being a great third-person shooter, but EA decided to turn it into a first-person shooter. I’m not sure that was the best idea considering there are already popular ones out there such as Call Of Duty: Advance Warfare that has just come out. EA is infamous as being a bad company for various reasons, so hopefully they will not damage this title’s name. I hope that Disney (who bought Lucas Arts) gave this project to them for a good reason.

  • The Legend Of Zelda (Working Title) (Wii U)

Not much has been said other than saying that it will be an open-world experience where anything can happen. I think they plan on taking some of the inspirations and gameplay mechanics of A Link Between Worlds like letting you explore and pick which dungeons you want to do in any order. The artstyle is very beautiful and reminds me of Skyward Sword. Today, Nintendo plans on having a Direct today to talk about both the Wii U and the 3DS, which is exciting. 🙂

  • Borderlands 3 (PS4)

Gearbox’s main franchise, Borderlands, is an “badass” third-person shooter that is known for its loot-gathering and comedic dialogue. I had so much fun playing Borderlands 2 with all the different, powerful weapons as well as the nice artstyle of shell-shading that is not really used anymore. Just like the other games listed here, there isn’t a lot revealed at the moment, so we’ll have to wait and see.
