The Kid Icarus series didn’t see the light of day for twenty years till Kid Icarus Uprising came out in 2012. Now it’s 2016 and Nintendo hasn’t done anything since besides including Dark Pit and Palutena as new playable characters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS which released in 2014. While Kid Icarus Uprising wasn’t perfect, I think it’s one of the best 3DS games. Pit would be great to include in the initial lineup of titles for the “NX” when it arrives for many reasons.
The last time I talked about Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U, I gave it a review and you can read it right here. It wasn’t as great as I was hoping for it to be, but maybe that is partly due to having high expectations since I really enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles. However, the game wasn’t terrible either. For me, XCX is in the odd middle ground of sorts overall. In this article, I’ll be talking more depth about what worked and didn’t.
There will be some spoilers here for both XCX and XC if you read more, you have been warned.
Game Informer will give its members some writing challenges every now and then in their Blog Herding articles, so without ado… here it is:
Community Writing Challenge: What do you think your favorite video game characters would do if they suddenly found themselves in our world? Would it be chaos? Would Mario and Luigi set up a plumbing business?
I’ll try to answer with the best of my ability about some of my favorite characters. 🙂
When the Miiverse stage came out for Super Smash Bros., I was excited to see some cool drawings. And while there are some great ones, most of them are either “I like [insert character’s name here]” or inappropriate pictures. So, right away I challenged myself to do at least one drawing for each character in the roster. I think I’m doing good so far, please let me know what you think. I’ll keep the list updated.
[Update: 12/27] More fighters to do: Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta
[Update: 10/17] Added Marth.
[Update: 8/28] Added Bowser.

Let’s talk about Super Smash Bros.! I’ll tell you about what I’ve been up to lately and more! One thing is for certain: Roy’s my boy! He’s rapidly becoming one of my mains. Read the rest of this entry →
When this game was first announced, the “trailer” only showed a cast of characters from both the Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem series in their original artworks and then at end there was something supernatural happening in a modern city.
Then it was awhile (three years?) before having any sort of updates, so many people believed the project was canceled. There was at least one post on GameInformer and other sites saying that “it’s on schedule” but nothing else besides that.
With the last Nintendo Direct, we finally got a real trailer confirming its existence and showing off some cutscenes and gameplay. There are many who are excited while others have concerns, like how it looks more like the Persona series than anything else. How do you feel about it? I’ll tell you some of my thoughts… Read the rest of this entry →
The second trailer for Fire Emblem If have sparked a lot of fans to get excited by telling a little more about what the game will be about and how the choices you make will truly change the fate of the war. On Facebook and other sites, I already see the hashtag “#TeamNohr” and “#TeamHoshido” even though we still don’t know a lot about either side. The hype is real and strong for Fire Emblem If.
Help me decide by choosing either Nohr or Hoshido in the poll below. If the game is going to be split into two versions for the rest of the world like it will be in Japan, I’ll be getting both, but I don’t know which path to choose first. You can also comment your choice and say why too, if you want. So, which one is better? 🙂
