Fun: Valentine’s Day Rinea

Published April 25, 2018 by Amanda B. Greene

I created this over the course of a few weeks, trying to practice my Adobe Illustrator skills, and finished right in time for Valentine’s Day. With the Fire Emblem community, many had the great idea of doing a “Valentian Valentines” themed banner for more Echoes characters in Fire Emblem Heroes. Of course, that didn’t happen, but people had fun thinking about it. So, I felt inspired and felt that Rinea would be perfect for this…

For my birthday on April 6th, I was gifted with Monster Hunter World for the PS4 and I have been enjoying it ever since, playing it whenever I get the chance.

Instead of doing another “First Impressions,” I thought about how it would be interesting to talk about how Capcom was successful in creating a certain feel or atmosphere that engages players to get excited about hunting giant monsters. So, here we are at the Canteen… let’s get started.

Why Kid Icarus Uprising Should Get A Sequel

The Kid Icarus series didn’t see the light of day for twenty years till Kid Icarus Uprising came out in 2012. Now it’s 2016 and Nintendo hasn’t done anything since besides including Dark Pit and Palutena as new playable characters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS which released in 2014. While Kid Icarus Uprising wasn’t perfect, I think it’s one of the best 3DS games. Pit would be great to include in the initial lineup of titles for the “NX” when it arrives for many reasons.

Some Thoughts On Xenoblade Chronicles X…

Published May 24, 2016 by Amanda B. Greene

XenobladeChroniclesX

The last time I talked about Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U, I gave it a review and you can read it right here. It wasn’t as great as I was hoping for it to be, but maybe that is partly due to having high expectations since I really enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles. However, the game wasn’t terrible either. For me, XCX is in the odd middle ground of sorts overall. In this article, I’ll be talking more depth about what worked and didn’t.

There will be some spoilers here for both XCX and XC if you read more, you have been warned.

Game Informer will give its members some writing challenges every now and then in their Blog Herding articles, so without ado… here it is:

Special: My Miiverse Mission

Published July 10, 2015 by Amanda B. Greene

Super-Smash-Bros.-Miiverse-Stage

When the Miiverse stage came out for Super Smash Bros., I was excited to see some cool drawings. And while there are some great ones, most of them are either “I like [insert character’s name here]” or inappropriate pictures. So, right away I challenged myself to do at least one drawing for each character in the roster. I think I’m doing good so far, please let me know what you think. I’ll keep the list updated.

[Update: 12/27] More fighters to do: Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta

[Update: 10/17] Added Marth.

[Update: 8/28] Added Bowser.

If you wish to see the list of characters left to do and all the pictures so far… Read the rest of this entry →
