Opinion: There Should Always Be An Offline Option

Published August 10, 2018 by Amanda B. Greene

I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, often bringing about arguments on threads, but I think it needs to be said. Some of the best and biggest games out there, as well as many upcoming ones, are always online, so those of us who don’t have good enough internet for online gaming can’t play them at all. I feel that this could be avoided for at least a few titles out there. Here, I’ll list out my reasons and acknowledge the opposite side too.

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! are upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch that are scheduled to be released on November 16th, 2018. Much of the gameplay will be different to resemble the mobile hit of 2016, Pokemon Go. The announcement trailer was shown just shortly before E3 and now they are up for pre-order. Recently, I’ve bought myself the Traveler’s Shield Backpack and some other things from ThinkGeek because I’m a big fan of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I’d like to take some pictures soon of what I have so far  in my small collection for fun. GameInformer did a poll on what everyone’s favorite gaming merchandise is, which kind of inspired me to talk about the topic.

In this article, I’ll give you some of my own tips and advice on how to best start a collection if you are interested in having one of your own and how to grow it without throwing your wallet away. Let’s get started!

News On Fire Emblem (As of 5/7/18)

Published May 8, 2018 by Amanda B. Greene

Fire Emblem Switch is one of the highest anticipated games of this year (or at least for me anyways), but there are still sparse details on what the next installment will entail. However, it is still confirmed to release in 2018, according to multiple articles like US Gamer.

For Fire Emblem Warriors, there was an interview with the game director from Koei Tecmo saying that while they would like to do a sequel, it is not going to happen any time soon for multiple reasons. If you would like to read about it, click on the article by Destructoid.

Fire Emblem Heroes will be getting a big update starting tomorrow on May 8th, 2018. You can read Siliconera’s summary of the added or updated content right here.

That is all for now for current news on the franchise, but I hope that we will get more information soon on Fire Emblem Switch. June is coming up, so expect some E3 announcements in the next couple of weeks. Nintendo will be largely focused on Super Smash Bros., which is exciting. Thanks for reading!

Published April 25, 2018 by Amanda B. Greene

I created this over the course of a few weeks, trying to practice my Adobe Illustrator skills, and finished right in time for Valentine’s Day. With the Fire Emblem community, many had the great idea of doing a “Valentian Valentines” themed banner for more Echoes characters in Fire Emblem Heroes. Of course, that didn’t happen, but people had fun thinking about it. So, I felt inspired and felt that Rinea would be perfect for this…

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Spirit Of Justice came out on September 8th, 2016 on the Nintendo 3DS. It has also since been released on iOS and Android devices on September 21st, 2017. I played it on the Nintendo 3DS when it launched, finishing it weeks later. I meant to do a review around that time, but simply forgot about it. It may be late, but for those who are still interested and would like some insight, here it is. There is no need for a Divination Séance for this verdict.
